Rights Groups Report Torture, Detention of Hundreds of Syrians in Tripoli Prisons

The Euro-Mediterranean Human Rights Monitor (EuroMedHR) and Libyan Crimes Watch (LCW) said Hundreds of Syrian migrants are being held in Libyan prisons. The Geneva-based non-profit EuroMedHR announced that the Libyan Coast Guard arrested over the past four months 800 Syrians while trying to migrate to Europe via the Mediterranean. They were taken to four detention centers in Tripoli: al-Zawiya Prison, Abu Salim, Ain Zara, and Gout al-Shaal.
