Iran’s parliament raised its demands to President Hassan Rouhani to move forward with his promise to lift the house arrest of leaders of the reformist movement, namely former Prime Minister Mir-Hossein Mousavi and Mehdi Karroubi. “National harmony will not be achieved unless the house arrest is lifted,” said Parliament Deputy Speaker Masoud Pezeshkian. He called on Rouhani to work on fulfilling his promises and move to resolve the case of Mousavi and Karroubi, who are both in their eighth year of house arrest.
