Tech giant Google has launched its new messaging service, which is set to replace traditional SMS (short message service) on Android phones, BBC reported. The new Chat service enjoys features such as group texts, videos, typing indicators and read receipts, which are not available when sending SMS texts. The new system has been in development phase for several years, but is now starting to appear on Android phones, like Nokia and Samsung. Chat will be integrated with the default messages app on Android phones, according to BBC.
